I need a big desk for my home office. Will this take over the whole room?

It is big 79 inches wide with a 60-inch hutch but the L-shape hugs the corner so it does not float in the middle of the room. Best for a master bedroom, dedicated home office, or open living room. Too large for tight dorms or tiny corners.
I run a home business with lots of paperwork. Is this practical or just a gaming desk?

It is both. The file drawer fits letter, A4, and legal-size papers perfect for bills, contracts, and records. Six open shelves hold your printer and supplies. Two power hubs power your office gear and gaming setup at the same time.
Can this hold a printer and scanner, or is it mostly for monitors?

Yes. The lower shelves and desktop fit a printer, scanner, or fax machine alongside dual monitors.
Five drawers sounds great, but are they cheap fabric or actually useful?

They are fabric but sturdy, with one sized for hanging files. You get 5 drawers and 6 open shelves total way more than most L-desks. The two separate power hubs (6 outlets, 4 USB) sit on opposite sides so cables reach both ends.
This thing looks huge. How long does it really take to put together?

Set aside 90 to 120 minutes with two people. The frame and hutch are heavy. The good news: fabric drawers just slide into their slots, no drawer assembly needed. Parts are labeled and instructions are clear. Support responds within 24 hours.
