Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is the foot pedal durable? I've had others break on me.

A: Absolutely. Our strong, teel foot pedal is engineered to withstand over 200,000 steps. That’s more than 20 steps a day for over 25 years. It's built for long-lasting, reliable performance.

Q: Is the lid soft-closing, or does it slam shut?

A: It features a silent and gentle SoftStep lid close. A specially designed air damper controls the lid's motion, so it will never slam shut, providing a quiet experience in your home.

Q: Do I need special bags for this can?

A: No. The SoftStep features a "Tuck & Hold" retention ring that securely fits any standard 13-gallon tall kitchen trash bag found at your local grocery store.

Q: How does the odor filter work?

A: The AbsorbX filter utilizes activated carbon technology to absorb and neutralize garbage odors (VOCs) before they escape the can. One filter is included free.

Q: How do I replace the trash bag without an inner bucket?

A: The can features a built-in retainer rim that holds the bag securely in place. Simply lift the lid, wrap a standard 13-gallon bag around the rim, and tuck the edges underneath. The rim locks the bag tightly to prevent slipping and keeps the exterior looking neat and polished—no inner bucket required.
