RIO PRODUCTS Premier Gold Fly Line, Easy to Cast Flies from Size 2 to 22, Ultimate All-Around Fly Line with Ultra-Slick Performance

FLY FISHING LINES

Wading all day in cold clear trout streams, battling tarpon after bonefish after permit in balmy turquoise tropics, or braving the wrath of salmon or steelhead in coastal rivers, there's a RIO fly line for you. We (happily) spend thousands of hours on the water researching, designing, and refining our fly lines for various fishing techniques. Built with cutting edge technology, you can take pleasure in throwing the highest quality line with every cast.

LEADERS & TIPPET

RIO has an incredible offering of tapered leaders for any angler - each with their own formulation, taper design and material choice to ensure that the leader does exactly what it was designed to do - cast after cast, fish after fish. RIO has a fantastic selection of the highest quality tippet material for any angler. Whether fly fishing for trout, bass, bonefish or permit, you will find RIO has the right tippet material for you.

FLIES

As fish-crazed anglers who spend more than our fair share of time on the water, we’ve spent years twisting feathers and fur into patterns that work when nothing else will. Now we want to share these exclusive, RIO Signature patterns along with all the reliable, go-to patterns anglers count on.

Just like our lines, we make our flies with innovative designs, thousands of hours on-the-water research, exceptional attention to detail, and the finest materials.

GEAR & ACCESSORIES

Product development like that won't happen all by itself – that level of commitment is going to require thousands more hours on the water – but somebody's got to do it, and that somebody is RIO. No matter what line family, price level or quality RIO fly line you choose, you can fish happy in the knowledge that every single fly line is made in our Idaho Falls facility – close to the banks of our premium testing grounds, the Henry’s Fork and the South Fork of the Snake in Idaho.

SlickCast

SlickCast creates the slickest, most durable coating on the market – producing the least amount of friction ever measured on a fly line. What does slick get you? For starters, line flies through the guides with higher line speeds for unprecedented and easy distance. The slick coating also allows anglers to fish more effectively as line slides out of the guides with less friction for extended drag-free drifts.

MaxCast

Our new, ultra-sophisticated line coating redefines floating line performance. Made with a groundbreaking proprietary formula, MaxCast lines float higher, shoot farther, last longer and stay cleaner. The secret? The coating’s advanced hydrophobic chemistry, which actively pushes water away from the line, resulting in radically improved floatation and reduced dirt adhesion.

It also allows the line to slip more easily from the surface film for longer, quieter pickups. At the same time, MaxCast’s coating formulation contains a sophisticated blend of permanent slickening agents, and slickening agents that continuously migrate to the line’s exterior for enhanced shooting and durability.

Maxfloat Tip

Tired of floating lines that work like sink tips? Fact is, the reduced coating at the narrow, tapered end of most floating lines doesn’t have enough buoyancy to stay above water. RIO’s MaxFloat Tips solves this age-old problem. Our all-new, proprietary tip coating formula floats more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter. That puts maximum floatation right where you need it for reduced drag, longer presentations and quieter pickups.

Extreme Slickness

Every fly fisherman is looking for a slicker line, and for good reason. Slicker line means longer casts, which is something all anglers strive to achieve. XS Technology is the latest development from RIO's lab coats that focuses on creating an ultra slick line, with dirt-repelling tendencies.

XS (Extreme Slickness) Technology began when RIO's chemists began reformulating conventional chemical combinations. Although RIO's formulas were great, our scientists are fly fishers, and by definition they want an even slicker fly line - it's just part of the deal.

ConnectCore Plus

Our next-generation, low-stretch core provides a radical increase in line durability, smoothness and performance.

Building a better fly line starts at the core, and our low-stretch ConnectCore Plus provides a radical increase in line durability, coating smoothness and overall performance. ConnectCore Plus stretches 30% less than standard cores, and gives anglers all the benefits of a low-stretch core - enhanced sensitivity, less wasted energy and faster hook sets - with a significantly longer lifespan.

DirectCore

In hot, humid conditions, DirectCore lines provide the stiffness you need to fire into the wind, with significantly reduced memory.

In hot, humid conditions, DirectCore lines provide the stiffness you need to fire into the wind, with significantly reduced memory. Which means your line lies straighter on the water for a more direct connection to fly and fish. DirectCore is also 25% stronger than other monofilament cores of equal size, and stretches 30% less at breaking point. In short, DirectCore makes you a better angler on the flats, in the mangroves and off the beach.

ConnectCore

When you rely on touch to know what’s going on in the depths, line stretch is the enemy.

Our ConnectCore lines open up new worlds of perception and sensitivity with ultra-low stretch performance. Soft, subtle takes become positive grabs, and without stretch to dull reaction times, hook sets are instant and sure. ConnectCore. The secret weapon for success.

Dual-Tone

DualTone is a system perfected by RIO that marks the sweet spot of a fly line by providing an obvious color change in the line. The design of every fly line taper, its most likely application and each individual line size is carefully taken into account, and the location of the color change is unique to each fly line.
